How can I create a an Internet based discussion group site limited to my colleagues at work?

I need to meet with our hospital staff more often than our time allows, so I thought of creating a private internet site where we can place our questions, ideas and circulate memos. How can I create that and at the same time maintain information security?|||If you are considering Yahoo groups, you may be able to do it. I'm not sure exactly what you want, but I belong to a group (I am also a past director of the group) that uses Yahoo groups as a communication tool.

As the owner/moderator of a yahoo group, you have the ability to control the privacy in many ways. You can keep it private by not listing it in the directory, making sure you have control of who joins and who does not (by making sure prospective members have to submit something before joining) you can also hide everything from people (non members) when they come to your home page, whether on purpose or accidentally. With some private groups, all you can see, if you are not a member, is just the name of the group and how many messages have posted and when it began.

You can even control how much information each member is allowed to access. I had ours set up where the board members had total access, then group leaders had the next level of access then, group members had the lowest level of access.

This worked nicely and we never had a security breach. We had messages posted with personal information, and nothing ever ended up in the wrong hands.

You can control files and documents the same way.

So, you can go in and begin setting up a yahoo group, and see what you think. It just may work for you.|||make a private group on facebook|||Have it password protected and only give the staph (smile) the password.
