What do you think Legal aid group subpoenaed on suspected service to illegals?

Investigators subpoenaed records from a prominent California legal aid group to determine whether it has violated federal rules by using taxpayer money to perform work for illegal aliens.

The California Rural Legal Assistance Corp. (CRLA), which is fighting the subpoena, has until next week to explain to a judge in Washington why it should not turn over client records to the federal Legal Services Corp.

Inspector general investigators say they've been stymied in the probe into whether the California legal group focuses its resources on farm worker and Latino issues while limiting services to inner-city residents and others, according to court filings.

An interim report by the Legal Services' inspector general to Congress last year also found that the legal aid group's management practices "at least create the condition in which representing ineligible aliens is possible without detection."

The report cited a confidential source as saying that "there was a clear feeling among certain CRLA staff that anyone unwilling to serve undocumented persons is a bad person."

The Legal Services Corp is a federally funded agency based in Washington that funds organizations across the country to provide legal services to low-income people, including paying more than half of the California Rural Legal Assistance Corp.'s $12.5 million budget last year.

The director of the San Francisco-based legal aid group said the organization does not provide services to illegal aliens because federal rules prohibit the practice. Violations could jeopardize federal funding under federal rules.

"You cannot serve undocumented clients with federal dollars," said Jose Padilla, executive director of the group. "A random selection ... would reveal we're complying with those regulations."

Can I just have the tree guy leave all the shreddings to use for the playscape area? Any problems with this?|||If you go with the wood chips from a tre shredder, you will find that alot of the pieces are too big for the purpose you want. In fact most playgrounds done with tree chippings are run through a machine to round off the ends of the pieces and remove most of the danger from getting splinters in the hands and feet of the young kids. When an archaeologist is excavating a single site, is it an independent political unit or a small base camp?

When an archaeologist is excavating a single site, is it an independent political unit, such as Maya city-state, or a smaller-scale base camp of a hunter-gather group?|||Much will depend on location and what you find. Certainly large temples and stone structures would be a permanent habitation. As hunter-gather's are nomadic within a defined range, you'll find sparse collections of artifacts and often evidence of specialized food processing. A hunter-gather base came would be larger as more clans and family groups would gather and more likely be a winter camp with shelter.|||When you start, there is no way to know if your site is independent or part of another, larger group. Can anyone suggest blood group based diet to lose weight and stay healty without using pills or special diet?

I BELIEVED THAT NO TWO PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH

WERE ALIKE; NO TWO PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME FINGERPRINTS, LIP PRINTS, OR VOICE PRINTS. NO TWO BLADES OF GRASS OR SNOWFLAKES ARE ALIKE. BECAUSE I FELT THAT ALL PEOPLE WERE DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER, I DID NOT THINK IT WAS LOGICAL THAT THEY SHOULD EAT THE SAME FOODS. IT BECAME CLEAR TO ME THAT SINCE EACH PERSON WAS HOUSED IN A SPECIAL BODY WITH DIFFERENT STRENGTHS, WEAKNESSES AND NUTRITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, THE ONLY WAY TO MAINTAIN HEALTH OR CURE ILLNESS WAS TO ACCOMMODATE TO THAT PARTICULAR PATIENT'S SPECIFIC NEEDS.

James D'Adamo

The dynamics of weight loss are related to the changes your body makes when you follow your genetically tailored diet. There are two factors.

1) First, as your body makes the dramatic shift of eliminating foods that are poorly digested or toxic, the first thing it does is try flush out the toxins that are already there.

Those toxins are mainly deposited in the fat tissue, so the process of eliminating toxins also means eliminating fat.

2) The second factor is the effects that specific foods have on the bodily systems that control weight. Depending on your blood type, the lectin activity of certain foods may do the following:

__ Interfere with the digestive process.

__ Slow down the rate of food metabolism, so you don't efficiently burn calories

for energy.

__ Compromise the production of insulin.

__ Upset the hormonal balance, causing water retention (oedema), thyroid

disorders and other problems.

Our blood contains aeons of genetic memory--bits and pieces of specific programming, passed on from our ancestors in codes we are still attempting to comprehend. One such code rests within our blood type. Perhaps it is the most important code we can decipher in our attempt to unravel the mysteries of blood and its vital role in

our existence.

__ When you use the individualized characteristics of your blood type as a guide for eating and living you will be healthier, you will easily reach your ideal weight and you will slow the process of ageing.

__ Your blood type is a more reliable measure of your identity than race, culture or geography. It is a genetic blueprint for who you are, a guide to how you can live most fully.

However, as with any diet, it will get you thinking about what you are currently eating, with the result that you may start to make changes to your diet. We are having a street party and looking for ideas for group based activities (not too physical), any ideas?

Hi,

We are having a street party c 150 people and are looking to organise a couple of group based activities. Obviously ages will be span generations so the games cant really be too physically based preferably. Can anyone suggest ideas? One idea is a group based quiz....

Cheers

Pete|||With different age groups you'll need different activities...and it all depends on how you're setting up for this party. We used 2 houses' backyards to give more space. One had croquet set up...the other had a pool. Screened in porches allowed for food to be kept out of the sun, but tables were set up all over.

Maybe you can pay a teen to entertain and oversee the kiddie games (can do relay races, pile the shoes in a huge heap and run and find 1 shoe at a time and go back and tag your team member). Kids like water play--can do team game where they have to take a cup and fill empty plastic bottle carefully while someone holds it on their head while sitting down...buckets placed between "good sport" and teams for refilling. First team done wins.

Another: fill 2 tubs with water and dump 100 marbles in it (more fun when some ice cubes are added to the tubs!)...teams have to pick up as many marbles with their toes only in 30 sec or a minute.

Can have bottles of bubbles for wee ones...play balls; there's also those velcro catching mitts; kids can play kick ball....do a Pinata.

Hula hoop contests...limbo contests. You don't have to do EVERY game including all 150 people---most will just enjoy watching, eating, drinking, laughing, talking as people mingle all over the place. Can have decks of cards....and that Mexican Train Dominoes game for groups to play sitting at a table. (Having someone to help out with the kids will be the big thing).|||Water balloon tosses are always fun if you dont mind getting wet, or have a jello eating contest. A quiz would be fun. One of the things ive done before for street parties, is we seperated the girls and the guys, and asked the girls questions that are male oriented. And the guys, questions that were girl oriented. For example.

We'd ask the guys group- 'What's the name of Chanellle's new perfume??'

Or the girls- ' who is the drummer for Poison?'

Stuff like that. That may not work for you though. Our group was only about fifty strong, and we all knew eachother really well, so we laughed and laughed at the silly answers they came up with. But with that many people, they may not be comfortable doing something like that. If you have brave members, you could have a dance off, just for laughs. Get grandpa out there doing the jitterbug. xD

Or go online and search for minute to win it. They have a lot of fun simple games. :)

Its not something i can explain, you'd just have to google it and look for the game show- Minute to win it. They have a ton of games on there that are fun for parties. :)

Base on the size of the crowds (gay rights vs tea baggers) what group would you label extremists or fringes?

The gay rights quadruple the size of the tea baggers movement

But that doesn't mean they're better-dressed!|||conservatives, can only get out one quarter the number of tax protestors, as gays can for gay rights?

wow, that's kinda pathetic|||There are a few problems with your question.

I believe that the gay rights crowd is NOT extremist or fringe. And they are fighting for their rights.

I do NOT believe the tea bag movement is extremist or fringe; though while they seem united in method, they don't seem to understand (or at least are unable to convey) their reasoning. I have yet to hear a reason behind the movement. Nevertheless, Republicanism may be down, but it is not any more "out" than the Democrats were back in 1994. The Republicans will be back at some point.

And regardless of who is fringe and who is in the middle, that has more to do with the ideas they are backing than the number of people doing the backing.|||You need to turn the dial. MSNBC is only showing a few people in their clips.

Flip over to fox news and you will get the larger rallies.

Fact is, their is "tea parties" going on right now in every state!

Have a good day.|||well maybe gay rights are in the middle ... after all it might be their favorite "place" to be.

What if one group tea bags gays on the head? would you make them extremists as well?

LOL|||What about people who attend both?

Although I am gay and pay my taxes willingly - there might be some gay people who are mad about taxes too.

I don't think people should see gay rights marches as "extremism" because it is usually a reaction to extremism like loss of life (hate crimes) liberty (sodomy laws) or pursuit of happiness (marriage).

Why do gays not get any of our inalienable rights?

If you don't stick up for yourself in the daylight - you will be trampled at nightfall.|||That's not a fair question.

Because Most Democrats are Gay.

They don't work so they have time to Protest.|||The gay rights movement has been organizing for decades, and has a lot of student support, who often take time off school in order to protest.

The Tea Party movement just started, and most of its supporters have JOBS, and as such can't take a day off to protest.

Every single time gay marriage is put to the voters it is defeated, whereas conservatives have won lots of elections (just not the last one).

BTW, what is your source for asserting that "gay rights" protest have quadruple the numbers?|||There were between 800 and 1000 Tea Party Demonstrations across the country.

That easily pales the gay rights protests in CA.

Your public school has failed you.|||hire know there is gay rights I thought I was all based on that everybody unhappy the way the government's spending your money ., to what you stand for you should be against the winner spending money and taking your money out your pockets .and if you think they're not taking enough you should give more

What does a solution that buffers against both an acid or base contain?

ex:

an unknown solution that buffers against acids contains a OH group

an unknown solution that buffers against bases contains a H group

What does a solution that buffers against both an acid or base contain?|||It contains a weak acid and its conjugate base.

The conjugate base of any acid is obtained by removing a H+ from the acid.

So, HCl --%26gt; Cl-, HNO3 --%26gt; NO3-, and so on.

Weak bases that are conjugate bases of weak acids are stronger bases than weak bases that are conjugate bases of strong acids. So when you have significant amount of a weak acid and its conjugate base in solution, a buffer is formed.

Example: NH3 and NH4+. The equilibrium in this buffer is:

NH4+ %26lt;----%26gt; NH3 + H+. Ka = 5.6 X 10-10, pka = 9.25.

when a strong acid is added to the solution, it reacts with the NH3 in the solution, NH3 is a stronger base than water, so it prevents the solution from building up the concentration of hydronium in it. Likewise, is a strong base is added to the buffer, it react with NH4+ before it does react with water, preventing the build up of hydroxide ions in the solution.

This will continue as long as there is enough weak acid and its conjugate base in solution. If the ratio of acid/base surpasses 10 or falls below 0.1, the buffer starts to become ineffective. That is why is recommended that to control a pH, you must choose a buffer as close to the pH that you wish to control. So the NH4+/NH3 buffer is good from around 8.25 to 10.25, optimal at 9.25, but if you go below 8.25 or above 10.25, the buffer is not that good.

Hope it helps.|||A buffer would contain a weak acid and one of its salts or a weak base and one of its salts

eg. ethanoic acid and any ethanoate

or aqueous ammonia and an ammonium salt

I'm not sure exactly what you want, but I belong to a group (I am also a past director of the group) that uses Yahoo groups as a communication tool.

As the owner/moderator of a yahoo group, you have the ability to control the privacy in many ways. You can keep it private by not listing it in the directory, making sure you have control of who joins and who does not (by making sure prospective members have to submit something before joining) you can also hide everything from people (non members) when they come to your home page, whether on purpose or accidentally. With some private groups, all you can see, if you are not a member, is just the name of the group and how many messages have posted and when it began.

You can even control how much information each member is allowed to access. I had ours set up where the board members had total access, then group leaders had the next level of access then, group members had the lowest level of access.

This worked nicely and we never had a security breach. We had messages posted with personal information, and nothing ever ended up in the wrong hands.

Formula of acetic acid is CH3COOH SHOWNG OH means hydroxl GROUP SO ITS BASE HOW IT IS CALLED ACID?

how can it be acid|||Acetic acid is an organic compound, and while in inorganic compounds, -OH means base, the rules change for organic compounds.

Acetic acid is a carboxylic acid, and when ionized, it becomes CH3CO2- and H+|||if it is (-OH) hydroxyl with a minus, it's a base. If it's a hydroxyl on a carbon it's neutral kind of like water, an alcohol. If an oxygen is double bonded to the carbon and there is a hydroxyl, resonance makes it so if a H+ leaves; it's still pretty stable.

If it's not natural to judge someone based on their group, then why be concerned about that group's reputation?

If we're not supposed to judge someone based off of what group they are in, but the kind of person they are, then of what importance is a reputation? Why does the concept of "reputation" even exist?|||It is perfectly natural to judge people on their group, we humans generalize everything, if we could not generalize, we could not drive or turn doorknobs......Generalizations are useful and humorous....."All asians are good at math" ..................All Blacks are good Dancers..............Mexicans Steal.........White people cant jump.....SEE, its fun.|||Reputation can exist on an individual level too.

Anyways...let's say it is "unnatural". That doesn't mean people don't do it. A lot of the time, people will automatically assume that someone belongs to this "group". People don't want to be apart of the "group" but people will assume they want to be. They end up worrying about the group because in the long run, if the group does something bad, then they look bad. Of course, they only worry about the group because people insist on generalizing in the first place.

If I compose a message with quotes, exclaimations, colons, and other punctuation marks with the "new" yahoo mail, special characters are embedded that appear as garbage when the message is posted on a yahoo group message data base. This problem still exists before beta yahoo mail became"the new" yahoo mail. Wil l I ever be able to write message to my group with the new mail?|||I also experience this problem. This makes it more cumbersome to type in bilingual fashion, so it is only a work around if it works at all. I am experimenting with this option. The real problem is probably with Yahoo or perhaps other settings that we need to make in the Text Services and Input Language control panel. I just started investigating this problem, and it is a complex issue. I may be leading you off track so beware. I only experience the problem in Yahoo Mail, no where else.

Is it right to judge a group based on only one of its members?

What do you think God did to women because of Eve?|||No. it is also the same as people bashing on Jehovah's witnesses just because one person in the organization makes a mistake and then they imagine everybody being like that person.|||No.

You may, however, say that all members of the same species (humans) are sinful and evil because of the actions of one person (or two)

Apparently, Yahweh is an exception to the rule.|||Eve was all of women.|||No it isn't but he did punish all women because of what she did.|||He didn't judge all women based on Eve. He just "cursed/punished" all of them because she ate the apple.|||I think if one or two of an organization of millions is involved in illegal or unethical behavior, then it is probably a serious overreaction to attribute the traits/actions of so few to the millions. In such a case, Eve would be guilty while no other women should be!!!

However, when there are bombs going off all over the world killing thousands of innocent people and those perpetrating such acts number in the tens of thousands and they are organized and all belong to a fanatic religious group, then I think the moderates of that same religious group bear some responsibility for those heinous actions especially if the moderates don't seem to be making any significant efforts to control and/or stop the fanatics.

Another example: Main-stream Mormons who now disavow polygamy can't ethically claim to wash their hands of the often damaging consequences of this fanatic religious belief. How many polygamists do you think there would be in Colorado City and the States of Utah and Idaho today if it hadn't been for Joseph Smith, who the Mormons say was a prophet of God and this teaching of multiple wives is divine. How much welfare money, litigation money and child abuse has this teaching cost the rest of us. Today main-stream Mormons don't practice polygamy but in no way do they claim this practice is ungodly. If fact, they still believe it is the highest Celestial marriage status that exists for men and women of their faith. This hardly discourages the fundamental groups from practicing polygamy. It would be tantamount to Muslims saying, "If it weren't against the law, we'd all be strapping of dynamite and blowing up infidels!

Muslims cut off the hand of those who steal. When is the last time you heard of a Muslim loosing a hand for setting a land mine . . . yet thousands go off??? When's the last time you heard of a fundamental Mormon polygamist family paying back the State for all its wive's and children on welfare . . . yet thousands abuse the State systems all the time. Yet neither fundamental Mormon or main-stream Mormon police these actions. So there is significant guilt in the Mormon clan and in the Muslim clan!!!

When religions start the "snow ball" rolling down the hill, they can hardly disavow the damage caused at the bottom of the hill just 'cause they aren't at the bottom of the hill.|||No you need a statistically significant sample of the population to judge the group. Any experts on Japan? Is Toyota Boshoku is owned by Toyota Motor or are they only part of the Toyota Group?

I see that they are part of the Toyota Group based on their website. The Toyota Group includes Toyota Motors, but I am curious if they are owned by Toyota Motors or if they are their own company??? Any help would be appreciated!!!|||Looking at the japanese version of the homepage, they had a history list of Toyota Boshoku.

-First established in 1918

-Merged with Toyota Motors in 1943

-Separated from Toyota Motors and established as Minsei Spinning in 1950

-Renamed itself as Toyota Boshoku in 1967

-Merged with three companies, one in 2000, 2 more in 2004

-Changed name from 璞婄敯 to 銉堛儴銈?in 2004

What is a subordinate group? and the Social construction of race?

What is a subordinate group? and the Social construction of race?

I have looked repeatedly in my book and can not understand the defintion of these two. Please help me. Thanks.

This is what I have come up with:

subordinate group - based on religion, race, etc.

Social construction of race - I have no clue.|||A minority or subordinate group is a sociological group that does not constitute a politically dominant voting majority of the total population of a given society. A sociological minority is not necessarily a numerical minority 鈥?it may include any group that is subnormal with respect to a dominant group in terms of social status, education, employment, wealth and political power. To avoid confusion, some writers prefer the terms "subordinate group" and "dominant group" rather than "minority" and "majority", respectively. In socioeconomics, the term "minority" typically refers to a socially subordination ethnic group (understood in terms of language, nationality, religion and/or culture). Other minority groups include people with disabilities, "economic minorities" (working poor or unemployed), "age minorities" (who are younger or older than a typical working age) and sexual minorities.

According to Jonathan Marks,

By the 1970s, it had become clear that (1) most human differences were cultural; (2) what was not cultural was principally polymorphic - that is to say, found in diverse groups of people at different frequencies; (3) what was not cultural or polymorphic was principally clinal - that is to say, gradually variable over geography; and (4) what was left - the component of human diversity that was not cultural, polymorphic, or clinal - was very small.

A consensus consequently developed among anthropologists and geneticists that race as the previous generation had known it - as largely discrete, geographically distinct, gene pools - did not exist.[70]

In the face of this rejection of race by evolutionary scientists, many social scientists have replaced the word race with the word "ethnicity" to refer to self-identifying groups based on beliefs concerning shared culture, ancestry and history. Alongside empirical and conceptual problems with "race," following the Second World War, evolutionary and social scientists were acutely aware of how beliefs about race had been used to justify discrimination, apartheid, slavery, and genocide. This questioning gained momentum in the 1960s during the U.S. civil rights movement and the emergence of numerous anti-colonial movements worldwide. They thus came to believe that race itself is a social construct, a concept that was believed to correspond to an objective reality but which was believed in because of its social functions.[7]

What activities can a youth group in a Catholic church have to raise funds & any ideas to invite more youth?

We are a part of the World Youth Day group based in Kuwait.|||At my parish growing up, my youth group held a silent auction and had a supper at the hall...the community, parishoners, etc. donated all kinds of items for the auction, and a local restaurant donated the food.

In turn, we donated half of the money to our local soup-kitchen that fed the homeless. so we werent' actually just trying to raise money for ourselves, but for the community, and I believe this is why more people dontated items, and bid on items.

Good luck to you and your endeavours!|||u may sell goodies, cards, craft etc. u may invite youth form other churches to invite more youth.|||I don't know if these things would be good in Kuwait, but these are some of the things we used to do:

- car wash afternoons (people pay to get their car washed, in the school car park - off the roads, so not traffic danger)

- garage sales (sell unwanted second hand goods for cheap prices and donate the proceeds to the cause - or other sellers can keep their proceeds and pay a site fee and/or donation)

- sell sweets, cakes etc through a charity scheme or cake making drive

- do odd jobs about the neighbourhood (if safe and possible) and raise some money that way

- collection taken up at Mass etc.

- run a trivia quiz or talent quest night

Maybe if you have not done this yet, you could have a meeting with the Parish parents and friends and teachers and youth group members one day, and come up with some good ideas together. You could have a lunch or tea with a fun atmosphere, which might get more youth involved too and get some more good ideas (if your school is a Catholic school, that could be a good place to start) Good luck.|||Ok :according to "Non Profit Organizations the Catholic

Should the grading system be based solely on group work?

In English class my teacher proposed this question. I am a little mixed on it, but I wanted to get peoples opinions on it. In your opinion, should the grading systeem be based solely on group work? You can include reasons if you want.

Thanks. :]|||No, I don't think so. I think some of it should be based on group work because we all need to learn to work with other people, to share what we know with others, and to learn from others. However, many people do very good work independently and like to learn independently so there should be an avenue for that sort of evaluation as well. Do a search for Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences theory and you will find information to support not basing grading solely on group work.|||No.

People have to be able to stand out on their own.

I've been in college classes where the entire grade is based on group projects, and even then there MUST be a way to grade the individual.

If people are graded solely on group work, people can slack off and make the rest of the group do the work. This drags down the group's performance (in just about every case), it lowers the teams morale, and it gives the poor performers a way to get through without being seen for what they are.

In all of the classes where something like that was done, the teacher would give a group report and evaluation to each member of the group. Part of the grade for the project was based on how the group evaluated the person and what effort they put into it. That way the slackers got punished for bad performance without hurting everyone else as much.|||Absolutely not. While I'm a strong advocate of group work as a way of training people, I never make it more than a small portion of grading, because it is too easy for one problem student to either disrupt the work of the entire group or to become a "free-rider". I know that when I was in law school, I had to do a team project that the school had decreed would be group-graded as a major part of one of my classes. Grades count for everything in law school; generally your entire semester rides on one exam, paper, or presentation. Well, the person I worked with sabotaged the presentation so that not only did he mess up, but he kept me from presenting what I had prepared by cutting me off with his own ramblings. The professor actually had to advocate on my behalf with the person in charge of the whole program, and I am forever grateful to her. Yes, there are circumstances in the real world in which we are judged as part of a group, rather than individually, but we have more options in life than we do in school.

Describe a situation in which you, as a member of a group?

Describe a situation in which you, as a member of a group, strongly disagreed with the actions of the group based on ethical grounds. Did you feel free to voice your opinion, or did you feel pressure to conform to the group? Explain whether or not you expressed your thoughts to the group, and what happened afterwards. How did the group鈥檚 culture affect your decision whether or not to speak out, and the group鈥檚 response?|||In an English class in my degree we studied 'Heart of Darkness' by Jasper Conrad. If you don't know, the book follows a white explorer's journey through the Congo part based on Conrad's own experiences. The descriptions of black people are really derogatory and the language is shocking comparing them to animals etc. We were asked if the main character was racist, everyone said yes straight away. I thought it couldn't be classed as racist by a modern audience. In my opinion although the language in today's context is racist and unacceptable, reading deeper into the book, it is still a lot further thinking than other texts of that time, and the main character does disagree with the treatment of the black people. I hesitated to say this because I was the only white person in the class, but when I voiced by opinion the lecturer agreed with me, and a couple of other students agreed and others saw my point. I did hesitate however, but stood by my opinion, there were no hard feelings in the group at all.|||oh, family funerals

He said that withholding our feelings and "not speaking" up was like wanting to be chained forever and live like a slave to and for that group or thing.

I have OFTEN spoken my feelings, beliefs and disagreements. I have been excluded from some groups because of that and other times I have changed the group's point of view. However, one must fully KNOW our ethics and hold on to them at all costs.

Is a group of individuals an impossibility?

By forming a group based on individuality do the individuals accept that they all have something in common and are thus no longer true individuals?|||Individuals are persons. You're an individual! loll!

We all have something in common. We share most of our genes with all humanity and beyond. But we all have some traits that make us one of a kind. That's what sets us apart of other, along with the environment we are raised and live in. Even a person and his clone would have differences.

No one is so stranded from society, so to not have a group. Everyone in a group it's unique and retains his unique features to certain level. Entering a group doesn't make you less unique.|||There is no group unless there are individuals.|||They may all have something in common, but they are still all individuals as there are many facets to the charachter that it would be impossible to find one exactly the same, therefore unique.

Take fruit stall - all apples are different, each is unique as they are all apples but each has a slightly different shape, taste, amount of juice, pips........|||In a group based on individuality , if you have something in common doesn't prove that the individuality is lost, they are simply knowing that they are somewhere close in their views, but individually they are individual. In fact, in a group like this it is very difficult for them to match with others even though they respect each others individuality, that is why they are called the group of individuals.|||working as a group member does not take away your individuality!|||The largest such "group" is the United States. At its founding, "common sovereignty" was the standard of how the government was to operate, meaing each individual had to give up to the government his/her right to such things as vigilante justice; or monkee trials; or political rule over others that is not democratically ordered under our system of republicanism.

But "popular sovereignty" is derived from "individual sovereignty." The "popular" cannot exist without permission from the "individual" to take parts of his/her rights.

"Individual sovereignty was not a peculiar conceit of Thomas Jefferson: It was the common assumption of the day."

http://www.friesian.com/ellis.htm

In giving up these rights to "popular sovereignty," we actually become more free to become more individualized. This is because we DO HAVE more freedom from the tryanny of other individuals. We no longer have to band together in tribes with spears or with guns; we let the State do it through elected representatives and hired professionals.

The United States IS a "group of individuals," because only individuals can freely give bits and pieces of their freedom in order "to provide for the common Defence." Taking of those bits and pieces by any other means is tyranny.

Tyranny eliminates the impossiblity of individuality in the group.
