i was in a group training class as we often do when we change our process and procedures there were 3 of terminated because the trainers felt that we could not work independently,in times past when this happen you were sent back through training, or shadow someone ,which did happen with some of the staff,we was nt given achance or probation we were terminated|||Of course. If you can't manage to follow directions for something like a simple training exercise, your employer is well within their rights to be done with you.|||Really, if you don't have a union and/or your salary is below $200,000.00 a year, my best advice would be to forget them and look for another job or apply for unemployment. Employers can be real bastards these days under current law and are not worth any further thought.
If you live in the US an employer can terminate you without giving you a reason or for any reason that does not involve discrimination, unless you have a union that will fight for you, they will be very careful to not anger the union. Under the law they can fire you for any reason whatsoever, it can be because you have brown eyes, as long as they don't say that - So employers make up various things like "they are redesigning the program and don't have a role for a receptionist, VP or dog walker (or your position) anymore". Even if they do all they have to do is change the title from Dog Walker" to "Canine Assistant".
If you can prove that it was based on discrimination or misconduct on their part and have the money for a lawyer (or a legal aid, you can get one at the courts), I'd say take them to court. They may offer you a severance pay or transfer you to avoid going to court. If they agree to go to court, you need to decide if all the time and money that will be taken up for court while you could be looking for another job or actually working would be worth it. I think it's best to not let them waste anymore of your time.
Good luck and you will find another (maybe better) job.|||Yes, someone may be terminated if the are determined to not be able to do the job.
