820th Base Defense Group, Or just Moody AFB?

I'm leaving for USAF BMT in a month. Afterwards, i'll be off to SF tech school. I'd really like to be stationed at Moody AFB in the 820th Base Defense Group, or more specifically, the 820th Combat Operations Squadron. I know that I have to list the base on my dream sheet, but i've also heard of people volunteering to go at tech school. Now, I know that they say and I heard are the two biggest liars around, so what do you all think? Do they take volunteers on a regular basis? Also, for those that are there, is the 820th BDG looking for new people quite often?





Answers from people with experience with this Base, Group, or Squadron are preferred. Also, I don't want to hear any anti-SF bs. Just because you couldn't make the best out of your job, doesn't mean I can't.





Thanks!|||I'm just in the dep like you but as far as I know, no they don't take volunteers, some are sent to moody afb and therfore are stationed there in the 820th abd group, others are sent elsewhere based on the needs of the air force. The 820th abd group mission is just as important as the other sf squadrons they don't get any special priviledge to ask for volunteers at sf tech school lol.
